Role Overview:
As a Barista, you will be the face of our coffee shop, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving coffee, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages. Your role will involve operating espresso machines, managing customer orders, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring that every drink is made to perfection. You’ll play a key role in creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare High-Quality Coffee & Beverages: Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment to prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos) to the highest standard.
- Customer Service: Greet and serve customers with a positive, friendly attitude. Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and making recommendations.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the barista station, coffee equipment, and seating area. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Stocking and Inventory Management: Assist with the stocking of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock needs to be replenished.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and operate the till. Ensure all payments are processed smoothly and efficiently.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customers have an enjoyable experience by interacting positively with them, addressing any concerns, and ensuring their orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, especially during busy periods.
- Promote Special Offers: Inform customers of any promotions, new menu items, or upcoming events to enhance their experience.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role is preferred, but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Passion for Coffee: A genuine passion for coffee and beverage preparation, with an eagerness to learn about different coffee beans, brewing techniques, and specialty drinks.
- Customer-Focused: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain a high standard of drink preparation.
- Team Player: A collaborative approach to working with your team, especially during busy periods.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
